CORPORATE CONTROLLER

 

 

FDH is a leading global distributor of aerospace parts and materials to the OEM and Aftermarket segments. Our business is built on relationships with key suppliers and focused on providing exceptional customer service. We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead the companywide accounting and treasury operations. Critical attributes include a highly engaged hands-on approach with strong leadership of the FDH accounting team. The Controller will assist and support the CFO in the achievement of the Company’s goals and the maintenance of adequate internal controls over all areas of accounting. A successful candidate will combine excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to ensure timely and accurate distribution of monthly and annual financial data in accordance with US GAAP, as well as issuance of relevant business KPIs to help guide the business. Critical to success will be hands-on involvement in the development of our future state ERP system and providing the necessary tools and reports across all functions of the company to support decision-making throughout the business, as well as providing automated solutions to manual processes. Experience at a high growth acquisition growth models, supply chain, distribution, aerospace industry strongly preferred.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with executive teams in identifying, planning, development, and implementation of systems that will support future vision of the company.

  • Provide day-to-day accounting guidance to executive leadership and operating teams across the organization and at the divisional level.

  • Support the training, and managing of the accounting organization

  • Lead the monthly and quarterly closing process, financial reporting, perform/oversee month-end journals and associated account reconciliations.

  • Deliver accounting and financial reporting requirements consistent with a private equity-backed company with multiple debt facilities (Senior facility and mezzanine debt).

  • Assist in leadership of annual budgeting and planning process; administer and review all financial plans and compare to actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate.

  • Assist the CFO in evaluating financial aspects of potential M&A activity.

  • Establish and maintain bank accounts, credit cards and other cash flow or liquidity aspects of the business in a leveraged environment.

  • Daily cash management and availability reporting to factor.

  • Monitor and forecast cash flow activity through proactive analyses.

  • Publish and help drive daily cash flow via net working capital metrics, capex planning and tax activity.

  • Develop, implement and manage best practices for all accounting policies, procedures and internal. controls to provide ongoing financial reporting integrity and risk mitigation.

  • Shared oversight with Materials team of on-hand inventory and ongoing cycle counts.

  • Manage annual reporting and audit process with 3rd party audit firm.

  • 3rd party firm tax compliance support, manage ongoing compliance and tax filing requirements.

     

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.

  • 10+ years of Accounting/ Finance experience.

  • Comprehensive understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Active CPA license preferred.

  • Expert technical expertise in ERP systems.

  • Aerospace Distribution industry experience strongly preferred.

  • Proven ability to implement, drive, improve and lead corporate accounting processes and procedures.

  • Knowledge of financial data and ability to analyze/present reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership updated on the company’s financial status.

  • Insightful, hands-on Accounting leader with strong leadership and communication skills.

  • Highly skilled in engaging teams to deliver results in a rapidly changing environment.

  • Strong project management leadership, knowledge, and skills, covering planning and execution, including ability to rapidly assess risk and identify/resolve issues.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to travel regionally and internationally (Business travel restrictions temporarily in place due to COVID)

  • Demonstrates integrity, bias for action, innovation, and ability to dive into the deepest details.

  • Motivates others by creating a climate in which people want to do their best.
